Hello everyone,

I’m a student working on some personal machine learning projects, primarily for educational and non-commercial use. I recently applied for access to Meta’s LLaMA models (via Hugging Face), but my request was rejected — and there doesn’t seem to be any way to reapply or appeal.

I understand that access decisions are at Meta’s discretion, and I respect the need for safeguards. However, since I didn’t receive a specific reason for the rejection and submitted a genuine request for research purposes, I’m posting here just to express my situation and hopefully get some guidance.

If access isn’t currently available to individual students or hobbyists, that’s understandable — but a bit more clarity on eligibility or future possibilities would be really helpful.

Thanks to the Meta team and community for all the work on these models — they’re incredible, and I hope to contribute and learn more through them when possible.
